Advantages: Connecting to people

Disadvantages: Security

Facebook, whether you love it or hate it is something you hear of all the time!

"Oh that (picture) is so going on facebook"
"Did you see .........'s facebook status?!"
"That should defo be your profile picture!"

If you dont love it you best at least get used to it because its not going anywhere.


When used correctly, what I mean by this is for actual networking and not using it as a popularity contest, it does definately have a good idea. It has alot of good and alot of bad points of course:


The Good
- Connecting to the people you actually lost contact with those many years ago
- Being able to see what people are up to.. (are they better off than you now?)
- Tell people what you are up to
- Connect and talk to people
- Uploading and viewing photos
- Uploading and viewing videos
- Usage of a number of applications
- Creating and joining groups that you are passionate about
- Bring people together

The Bad
- Popularity contest
- Connecting to the people you lost touch with those so many years ago
- People telling the world about their pointless actions.
e.g. '........ has just got up!'
- Highly addictive
- You have to check your profile incase someone may have tagged you in a bad pic or wrote something you dont like on your wall
- Depending on the security level of your profile and friend's profiles, people can easily find out quite alot about you without you wanting to
- Too many applications


Facebook has its good and its bad points. I personally love facebook but I do think it does have its bad points. For example, I dont think people who do not genuinely know each other should not be able to add each other. I think this can be a security risk to anyone, as there are some weirdos out there and it is not just children in risk but anyone who accepts random people can be in risk.

I love facebook to show off my photos, let people know what I am up to and to find out what my close/close-ish friends are up to.
