Advantages: Great social networking site with plenty of features

Disadvantages: Facebook don't really listen to what it's members want..

To begin with, I really really did not want a Facebook. I had a MySpace and I LIKED my MySpace, I hated the sudden obsession and craze with Facebook and thought it was kind of stupid.
Then one night my friend got me in a really bored mood and made me really hyper, so I decided fine why not, I was being nagged nearly everyday so I thought I'd finally give in and get one.
I do like Facebook now most of the time, they change the layout to ridiculous ways quite often though which gets oh so very annoying, and some of the apps on there are pretty silly.

I like how the whole friend request system works, along with the messaging. The Facebook 'Chat' really does need improving and is consistently unreliable with if messages will actually send or not.
I would so prefer if it was possible to just change the colours of the site yourself to your liking considering the plain normal blue is getting a bit boring.

One of the very good bits about Facebook is the whole blocking system for other people. On MySpace and other sites, if you block someone it just means that they can't add you or message you, however they can still see your profile and pictures, and comments you've left on other people's profiles... But if you block someone on Facebook, that is it. They can't see your profile, add you, message you, see your comments on other people's profiles or status', or even see tags of you on pictures. I really do like how that works and it makes things feel a lot safer.
All of their privacy settings are a lot more efficient than MySpace's are, and makes the site a whole lot generally more safe.

As for emails and notifications, I don't have any problem with them because you can turn off any you like. The notifications can be set to exactly what ones you want to receive and you can turn them off at any time, so that's quite a helpful feature.

The picture and video uploading could be improved, it's incredibly slow and often randomly stops and you have to begin again, so Facebook need to sort that.

Some of the apps on Facebook really are pretty great, I'm a bit addicted to Farmville and Cafe World. It gives an extra silly game and thing to do while on there, which is pretty great really! The apps don't take long to load up, and are free (unless you choose to buy extra stuff for actual money, but generally it's free), and you can just come and go to your farm/cafe/zoo/fish tank.... which is always good!

Overall, Facebook is generally quite a good social networking site, it has a fair few improvements that need to be done, and Facebook need to actually listen to what it's members want a little bit more, other than that though it's pretty good!

Summary: Overall, the social networking site I've stuck to the longest.
