Advantages: free, fun, good way to keep in contact with people

Disadvantages: Getting too many apps etc

I have been a member of facebook for years now. I have to say it is very good, especially considering that it is free. This is the mother of all social networking web sites.
I never fully got into myspace, i found it confusing and annoying. Facebook is very easy to set up and use and you are able to keep it very simple if you so please.
The main reasons i use it is to keep up to date with upcoming events etc and to chat to my friends for free. There is a new msn style chat system that sends instant messages between you and others. However you can do nearly everything on it. There are countless games and applications and new ones are constantly being added.
It is also very useful to store and see others photos and videos.
You must be careful about what information you put down though. Some people put every detail about their lives on FB which i would not reccomend considering identity theft etc. Keep it to the basics.
The one downside is that it is getting far to big for its own good. There are too many applictations and games, i feel this has ruiled it a bit. I would much prefer them to keep it simple but good.

Summary: excellent site
