Advantages: A facilitator rather than a bookies, so the odds are often better and you don't give your cash to some idiot in a daft hat and smoking a cigar. Free cash to start you off (you DO NOT need to put any of your own money in before you bet).
Disadvantages: People are put off because you have to enter your card details. If you don't know a lot about betting, yu could lose your free money fast.
I am always wary of freebies with web sires, especially when they gave me £15 of free bets just to join, but as FHM (read my review under magazines) had given it a high rating, I decided to give it a go, making sure I had the address for FHM's offices so I could go and beat them up if anything did go wrong. Yes, you have to put your card details in, but they make a big deal about their security being really tight, and anything with your name on it has to go through a secure server. So far I'm up a fiver (I still haven't paid any of my own money into the account), and have bet on several different topics, including the Rugby Legue World Cup and Who Wants to be a Millionaire, but the list is aldomst ensless, from American Politics to the FTSE 100. The site is not really a bookies, so you know that your money isn't going to some fat bloke who wears dodgy hats and smokes a cigar, but more of a facilitator. Let me explain, 'cos I didn't gat it at first: You go to a page which has something you want to bet, for simplicities sake, Man U vs. Bradford City. You then look for what result you want, eg. you want to bet on City to win (I mean, Man U would have no chance (????????)). So you click on City to win, and see who is betting (these are other players, not the site itself). People offer there own stakes and make up their own odds. If you see one you like, you press take it and your stake is automatically debited from your account (the one with Flutter, NOT your bank, you can't bet if you don't have money in your flutter account, whether promotional or your own). Then you have to wait for the result, and is its good, your Flutter account is credited with your winnings. Flutter only takes a percentage (2 or 2.5% of the total I think), and people can't not pay up as their account is debited immediately. You can also bet on scores, like 1-0, 2-0 etc, draws, half time scores etc. If you can'
t find a bet you want to take, its easy to make one yourself! You just type in how much your stake is, what odds you want to give, and Flutter works it out for you. You can also cancel your bet (if you made it) before anyone else takes it. You can't back out of other peoples bets you've taken or if your bet has been taken. If you don't know a lot about betting, go to another website and see what the bookies offer, or look and see what other Flutter members offer. My tip is to give slightly better odds to get yourself at the top eg there were a lot of bets against New Zealand winning the RL World Cup at 1:3 (You bet 3 times as much as the other guy who says NZ will win), so I gave odds of 10-31, very slightly giving better odds, but rating higher on the chart as my odds were beter. Overall, it is an excellent site, but think about what the odds are and what you're betting on or you might get burned, but with £10-15 given to you to start off, you get the hang of it before you start to lose your own money. The site loads quickly, has many bets on offer on a vast range of subjects, and is very user friendly. Remember that they give you money because thay want you to stay and make more bets, so it is very good. You do not need to put in any of your own cash to bet, you can use their free money and have your deposited balance at zero. Be careful of odds, people will try to fool you by offering quite hard bets at 11-10 or something like that, which can look a lot, but is only, really, evens. (ignore that if you see my bets and me using my tip above) I can't rate this site highly enough.
