FMyLife.com is website full of unfortunate stories that have happened to people. These all end with the letters FML. When you arrive at the homepage of site, you see all the newest entries in the website listed chronologically. Under each story, there are different links. The first link, is for comments, you can just hover over the number and the newest comments will show up. The second and third links are "I agree, your life sucks" or "you totally deserved it". There's a new favourite website on the block, first myspace, then bebo, facebook and twitter. Well, now I introduce you to FML. For those of you who don't know, FML stands for f*ck my life and is now frequently used in everyday language among people who actually know what it means. I first heard about FML in April whilst on Urban Dictionary and have checked it every single day since then. It's always great to know that when you're having a bad day, someone else's is slightly worse, or even just great to read about other people's misery. Sounds harsh, but it's true. This is a website for people to post their most tragic stories for the entire world to see. Essentially people compare the hideously awful moments in their lives, and you usually find that no matter how bad your day has gone, someone has it worst. Or at least that's the theory. To easily search for these embarrassing and crushing moments there are useful categories to quantify these anecdotes. Overall I think this site is just a place for universal venting and hopefully to see that you are not the only one with problems. However if you want some sympathy then this is not the place to go. Fmylife.com is a site I'd never heard of before reading a review about it on here, yet since then I've since quite a few links to it from other sites (weird how that happens). I'm a big fan of reading about how things could be worse, whether that's reading magazines or watching soaps. I know, it's not nice - but that's why these things are popular, right? As the slogan goes - 'It's funny, it's true, except when it happens to you' - doesn't scan, but never mind.. There's also, 'My life sucks but I don't give a f***!'.
