Food & Drink Websites in generalNewest Review: ... upon the following website a few months ago by pure and utter chance. I am now going to use it for my brother, husband and uncle on their next birthdays. My father bless him was used as the original guinea pig when trying out this website. Trust me if they like a bit of spice in there lives they will love what's on offer here. So what on earth am I talking about? Scorchio.co.uk that's what. This website is dedicated to all things hot and spicy. They sell all sorts of chilli sauces, marinades, salsas, dressings, rubs, dips, and relishes from around the world. The home page consists of a fiery orange background. The site itself is quite ba... more |

Isn't it really frustrating when you are faced with buying a gift for your partner, husband or father. You are probably like me and wrack your brains for ages trying to think of something at least vaguely interesting to buy them. A task however which is never an easy one. I'm not sure why this has to be the case with the male species. I don't class myself as being materialistic and always wanting for things. However when my husband asks me if there is anything in particular that I would like for an up and coming birthday or anniversary, I always have at least one or two ideas in mind. Maybe a new perfume, some flowers or an item of clothing perhaps (this item however ... Read the complete review

www.bbcgoodfood.com is the definitive recipe website. This website has been up and running of some years now, but I had always eschewed it in favour of the magazine. I have for many years subscribed to the BBC Good Food magazine and loved that fact that it would be posted through my door each month. Reading it each month was my education in food. I learnt about different types of ingrediants, styles of cooking, techniques and putting flavours together. The magazine also gave me an idea of how food styles evolve and how styles of cooking can become dated. I now consider myself a proficient cook. This, combined with the 'credit ... “Pimp My Ride” was originally an American show on MTV where a team of pimpers would take a viewer’s clapped out old banger and restore and customize it into a unique new being. The show now has a UK version out, and the concept is growing. PimpMySnack is not about cars – it’s a wonderful interpretation of the theme, and uses sweet and savoury snack foods instead of motor vehicles. On the site the meaning of ‘pimp’ has also evolved a bit – though it can sometimes mean ‘to jazz up and make really special’, it can also mean ‘to supersize’, and supersize they do, to great effect. Let’s start at the beginning. The website (“created on a whim on 3rd April ... Read the complete review

Just a little bit of Saturday morning nonsence www.subservientchicken.com is a fun website set up by BurgerKing. I am not going into the politics or pros and cons of Burgerking, this is just a fun thing that will keep kids amused for quite a while and give adults a laugh in the meantime. On entering the site you will be presented with an adult dressed up as an oversized chicken. He will welcome you with a wave. He is situated in a room furnished with a sofa, chair, bookcase, tv and a lamp..or inotherwords, he is in his lounge. He is waiting to perform for you. When the window appears, there is a “Chat to the Chicken” box where you can ... Read the complete review

Beer can chicken of course!!!!! Want to impress your guests at your next barbie with something unusual? Well, this is the site to find that perfect recipe. The only drawback is you will need a kettle barbecue. Ufortunately I can't try it myself as we haven't got the appropriate barbecue :( Please though, if any of you try it, come back and let me know what it was like. Basically you need 3 things, your chicken a can of beer and some of your favourite spices. 1. Remove the giblets etc from the chicken and rub the outside with your favourite spices (it does say smoking rub on the site but I don't ... Read the complete review
