I entered my desired goal weight, which at a bmi of 18.9 was nearly at the bottom of the normal range, and meant I had 2 1/2 stones to loose. And so it began. Every day I log on to input what I've eaten. I find it ... more

I'm on a bit of a diet at the moment in the run up to my wedding, and I was looking for a free way to monitor what I eat. I'd tried writing it all down in a notebook, but so many things have no nutritional information on them I found I was frequently guessing wildly, which meant I'd make excuses and felt like I was 'dieting', while actually eating a completely normal level of calories! A friend recommended I try www.foodfocus.co.uk about 5 months ago, and I dutifully logged on and checked it out. Its easy to set up a profile (which is completely private), and you input details such as your height, weight, goal weight, ideal loss per week, exercise targets if ...  Read the complete review

I joined Food Focus about 3 months ago as a way to help me keep track of what I eat, and hopefully loose a bit of weight. When you sign up to Food Focus you have to create a profile, height, weight, activity level of job, age and so on. You also enter what weight you want to be as a goal, and the amount you want to loose per week. The maximum this can be set to is 2lb a week to try to encourage healthy, sustainable weight loss. There is a massive database of foods, so every time you eat something you can log it, and keep track of the calories, fat, carbs, protein etc you are eating. For this reason the site would probably be good for body builders ...  Read the complete review

I have struggled with my weight since having my first child 8 years ago but it was manageable. However since having my daughter, I was diganoised with hypothyroidism after my weight escalated to over 17.5 stone, which put me a a seriously obese weight. I have tried both diet pills from the doctor and thought I ate healthy. But the weight lost was slow. I lost just over a stone in 3 mths. Due to a slightly abnormal liver showing up on a regular routine blood test, My doctor is now unwilling to perscribe any drugs to help with losing weight and told me to diet, diet , diet. Which is what I have been trying so that wasn't a great ...  Read the complete review

As someone who has a huge love of food, and a sedantry life style mainly due to working in an office and hence being sat at a desk all day everyday, I have over the years gradually put on weight and now I really want to do something about it! Now, like most people who have tried to lose weight, I have tried a few different 'fad' type diets which all work to an extent but once you stop doing them, the weight soon returns. The best way to lose weight is through a caloprie controlled diet whereby you eat less calories in a day then your body burns off but it is not always that easy to keep tabs on exactly how many calories you have eaten in a day. As ...  Read the complete review
