So I waited a while, thinking that it just wasn't registered in the cookies of the place. So I went there again a few days later to update it and view it...It still didn't work! Now it was time for help. I asked for help from a FortuneCity person and all they told me was that I didn't have anything on the page, except I really did! So I'm going somewhere else. I do not recommend this place to put your site on. ... more

Premium Review Free webspace (nothing more, nothing less) (150 words)

Fortunecity, like so many things, has good and bad point, but for once they pretty much equal each other out. On the plus side we have the fact that it is 100mb of free space. That really is quite a lot, and enough for anyone (except the really weird). Another plus is the ease of use. A layman can figure out how upload and they do provide excellent help when required. On the downside, it appears someone in the company is quite imbecilic as I know of several people who have lost large amounts of information because of problems with Fortunecity. While this is a problem with most free servers, we really shouldn’t have to put up with it. If you want ...  Read the complete review

From day one I had problems - - First of all I couldn't log on via FTP to upload my site. - When I eventually got on, the upload and download times were absolutely atrocious, and every time I tried, the upload ground to a halt! - I eventually got the pages up, but when I tested the site, there was a problem. I tried to access the FTP to fix the problem and once again it was down. - Over several days, I had numerous attepmts and numerous problems. It was chaos. - Eventually - I managed to get the site up - and I now use ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Fortunate to have Fortunecity? (155 words)

Fortunecity is one of the big providers in free webspace. You get 100 Mb of space which can be useful for anyone starting to design their own personaly web space. The main disadvantages are two fold. There is the problem of having a banner on your page advertising. Perhaps ok if you are just learning to design a web page, otherwise it can look unproffesional. Secondly, the problem is with the address you are given, nobody would be bothered typeing such a long URL, it is nearly a whole line long. TIP - this can be improved by using web aliases such as easy.to/remember which gives you a free www.w3.to/yoursite address. If you are feeling a bit richer you can ...  Read the complete review

Well, I love creating websites and I am always on the lookout for company's that offer free webspace. I came across fortunecity's 100mb free webspace offer and I just couldn't refuse! If that wasn't enough when I found how easy it was to upload files onto the net using fortunecity's builder programs I thought to myself, this service is excellent. There are also interactive areas where you can ask about any problems you have. The ministers who help you are very friendly, I should know (One of my friends who lives across the street from me is a minister). Believe me, if you want to create a website and upload it without hassle then ...  Read the complete review
