I stumbled upon freecycle by accident wholst looking for free classifieds where i could advertise my 3 piece suite that i wanted to get rid of, The whole concept of the site is that people recycle there unwanted household items for free to other members so saves a lot of stuff landing up in land fill sites.

Freecycle is easy to join you just need to look through the groups and select the group that is closest to your home town, it may even be your home town but it is never further than a few miles away.

My town isnt listed on there and it would only allow me to join one town group even though i am situated in the middle of two groups on there so i chose the largest of the two to join that way there would be more members to offer my no longer wanted items to.

You post your adverts on there like you would on a general sales site starting with a heading of weather the item is offered or wanted then followed by the item, you then in the larger box underneith state as much or as little detail as you want about the item.

Everything on this site is free it is against the rules to ask for money for anything on there but i have seen some adverts asking to swap items, no idea if this is allowed or not.

Once a member has posted a wanted or offered advert on there it is sent out by email to the email box of all the members and if any of them want the item or have one to give away they email you about the item. you can also use the sites search engine to look for things that way if you prefer.

There is a great range of items offered on there as you can imagine as you can advertise most things but not live animals,

I think this web site is great for anyone on a tight budget looking for items they need and especially good for me to be able to get rid of things i no longer want to people who can make a use of them.
