You know when you sort out the loft, or the shed, or sort through the kids stuff and decide you either don't need the stuff anymore, and you put it all into piles - ebay/dump. Well i always have stuff that is in the middle. Too good to chuck but not good enough (or not worth the effort) to sell on ebay. You know what i then do with it.. FREECYCLE.

Freecycle is a group on yahoo that is split into local areas. You join your local (or closest) area and then you get started, listing things you don't want and choosing any of the items on there that other people have listed that may be of use to you.

There are lot of items that go but to be honest it is very difficult to generalise as there is just such a massive amount of items. In my time i have seen pianos, tickets to silverstone, sofas, tvs, old carpet. I myself have taken up offers on plastic garden chairs, strawberry, mint and rosemary plants, a plastic garden table and chair set and so much more.

Freecycle is economical and a fantastic way to save money in this current economy. I know taking things to a charity shop helps others but with 3 children it is easier to get someone to collect from me rather than dragging them to a shop!

Some people have complained about greedy/ungrateful and rude people. I myself have not had any of this in my time with freecycle and ha ve made some good friends who all live locally to me!
