Advantages: free ringtones, lots of choice, no moaning teenager
Disadvantages: they have stopped updating the site
www.freeringtone.20m.com My 13 year old daughter has a Nokia 3310, thanks to the rather nice person who stole her new 3410 she had for Christmas, but that is another story. Anyway she wanted to have loads of ringtones on her phone instead of the usual basic boring ones that came with the phone. As with most 13 year olds they havn't got a lot of money so free ring tones was the way to go. COMPOSER ********* If you own a Nokia phone, in your options under ringtones you will find a section called composer where you can write your own music, sowe looked on the internet for songs we could input into the phone. We did many hours of searching, and as usual was sent backwards and forwards through links and pop-ups to no avail. Eventually we came across a site called freeringtone.20m.com DEAD ***** The owner of the site has now finished with the site which was up and going for 6 months, but they have kindly left the site up and running so you can still use the ring tones. HOMEPAGE ********* It has a link to the ringtones, games and instructions. It is very clear and basically laid out so you will definatley have no trouble in finding your way around. INSTRUCTIONS PAGE ****************** It explains that the ringtones were written for the 3210, but I have composed a lot of songs from there for the 3310 and they are all fine, so I would say that as long as your Nokia phone has a compose section then it should be fine. I would'nt think that the instructions page would really be needed as composing the songs is very simple, but if you do need it it is written down very plainly so it is easy to understand. It goes through all the step by step instructions of getting into compose mode on your phone, write through to the actual composing. RINGTONES PAGE *************** This page is written out simply too. It has all the songs in alphabetical order, 1
-9, a-e, f-j etc. There are a wide variety of songs to fit in with most people tastes, from Eminen, NSYNC, Sugar babes, Aerosmith, as well as the kids favourites, Simpsons, Scooby Doo etc. COMPOSING ********** This was extremley easy, you look for the song you want and underneath is a list of numbers and symbols, and you simply tap them into your phone as it is written. It looks like a load of jargon, but rest assured the finished product does sound good. Here is an example of what it may look like........ Justin tempo 100 4,3*,5#,3,2,49,2,3,(hold2),3,1,**,5# This is'nt the actual song but you just type in the numbers and symbols, then press enter on your phone and enter the tempo number and you have your new ringtone, it could'nt be simpler. But of course if you do have trouble get your 13 year old to show you how!!!!!LOL Have fun, happy composing.
