Friends Reunited was launched primarily as a way to find long-lost childhood friends by signing up with your details and "adding yourself" to your old schools, universities and workplaces. You can then browse through other people who are listed at these places and get back in touch with them. When you join, you create a profile which describes what you've been doing since you left school, whether you're married, have kids etc. There are other fun profile questions such as whether you have pets, where you've travelled to in the world etc. You can create "friends lists" where you add people you're particularly keen to keep in touch with and you can create news flashes and announcements, which are visible to people who are linked to you because you've attended a school or workplace at the same time. Friends Reunited has grown even further now than matching up old friends, with the arrival of interest-based community message boards and chat rooms. So not only can you hook up with old friends, you can even find new ones!
