Aww. I was clearing out Conor and Kieran's favourites folder, or rather we were. And it was time to say goodbye to Fun With Spot. Conor's seven and Kieran's almost six and we've not been there now in a long time. Time was though, when it was always top of the list or thereabouts. Spot the dog, creation of author Eric Hill, is a favourite of many children around the world and deservedly so. If your children enjoy Spot the Dog either in books or on TV or Video, they will probably like the website. The welcome page is bright and cheerful just like the books. If you want to check it out before your children the adults section gives you a good overview of the activities from a parents or teachers point of view. But lets get to the fun bit. THE PARK This is my daughters favourite. You are given a choice of four types of weather and four toys, your child chooses one of each and a little animated scene with a sentence about it is created. I have spent the last two days with two of my children at the funwith spot.com website and i have to say i am really impressed with it.The whole site is easyily managable for children even as young as three !! The pictures are lovely and clear as are the instuctions to play games,my children loved the bit where you choose the weather then choose an item,(for example windy day with an umbrella) brings up spot with his umbrella on a windy day,this brought lots of laughter as spot gets blown up in air and spins round in a circle. We also printed off some nice pictures,i would recommend this site for smaller children who love repetition. Definately worth a look ...
