Advantages: Fun and enjoyment,

Disadvantages: Unrealistic

I notice that there has already been a review on yahoo pool. I also feel that I have the experience of this game to give an in depth review since I have played it on and off for 5-6 years.

How to Play

- To move the cue you can use you mouse and right left click the cue and hold until the direction wanted is chosen.
- To aim there is a line that will show the direction that the cue ball will travel; yahoo has tried to incorporate some kind of realism in the way that it is harder to make a long shot then a short shot. This is done by giving no line that the cue ball will travel after impact.
- To use spin, there is a cue ball in the top right corner of the window, click the cue ball in which ever area you wish to strike the ball to allow for the desired spin.
- To move the cue you can use you mouse and right click hold the cue and drag back to desired power then release. Alternatively you can use your keyboard and set the desired power by using the arrows.

That's all there really is to it, it is one of the simplest virtual games around, but I can promise it is addicting.

To get started you will need to create a yahoo account, this is extremely easy, just go to www.yahoo.com and sign up. Once signed up click games then scroll down until you find pool. There will be many rooms to choose from each have there varying degrees of popularity, I would advise joining a social room (the rooms are put into 4 categories social, beginner, intermediate and advanced) this is where a lot of people go to not only play beginner pool but also go to have a chat with friends they may have made.

As I said in my introduction I have been playing pool for 5/6 years now, sometimes I do look back and think I have wasted a lot of my life playing this game, but in theory have I? Because I have enjoyed every minute of it. I used to go online to chat to a few of my friends.

Since I have played for so long I am now probably one of the better players on the game, and it is surprising how heated some tournaments that are available to play in can get. There is generally a league in every room where you can sign up and play tournaments against each other to prove who the best is. Once you get good enough to compete at this level it may be time to move up a notch, the next step is representing your league in what is known as an interleague.

Interleagues are where leagues compete against each other, reputation is a big thing in the yahoo world and if you win one of these competitions, then your league becomes sort after and people will join. When playing at this level, players tend to get quite competitive and will do anything to win (including cheating).

There is a brief review of Ypool, if anyone is interested in playing then don't hesitate to send me a message and I can direct you to the right places.

Summary: hours of enjoyment to be had for bored people wondering what to do next on the net.
