I agree. This company is truly awful!!!! Avoid like the plague!!!I purchased a game and at first could not download it as their links were not working. When I finally managed to download Manually the game would not install due to a missing config file. I downloaded it again this time using their "wonder-doh!-ful" downloader, and the same thing happened. What a shambles! I contacted them but still not help only their response that they received my complaint.I'm fed up and if not resolved will be talking to trading standards and my bank to get my money back. It's about time someone took a stand!
While buying they never tell you they are gonna delay the delivery for 8h. I tried to cancel the order before the order was sent but seems they didn´t even read the mails and tickets i had open with them. I received the key almost 11h later (even when I said i wanted a refund and cancel the order) and it's not even working while installing the game. Since then I've been sending more mails requesting a full refund for my order and they didné answer any fo them. This is a shame. I'm doing a chargeback at the bank. Seems it's the only language they understand.

This company is truly awful: avoid it at all costs. My experience of the service offered has been one of ineptitude, apathy and the acquisition of my money for no product delivered.
I puchased Rome TW Gold Edition for £9.99. I progressed through the secure payment procedure without difficulty and the download began. 4 seperate files had to be downloaded and these duly appeared. However, during the 3rd file download the process stopped and the download page disappeared. I went to retrive the promise e-mail from gamesplanet with the order and licence number so that I could begin the download process again. Not present in my inbox. Back to the site to request another e-mail. Not sent. After 10 attempts to generate an automatic e-mail without result I tried to contact their help/support line by phone . Constantly engaged. Sent my own e-mail, still waiting for reply after 12 days. I feel like I have been mugged and ther seems to be no avenue of redress.
I hate to disagree with a fellow video game consumer - wampyrii who wrote the former and glowing recommendation on Gamesplanet - but i feel it's only fair to give a true account of what i experienced shopping with this company to make people aware that every experience CAN be VERY different.
The site itself is very user friendly, you have a simple menu that runs along the top of the games to check what games are in stock, about upcoming titles, you know the type of thing!?! I myself had used Kelkoo to find the best price for the game - which i am sure we all agree is a bonus when you find the game you really want at a reasonable price also with free P&P to the UK. However, i double checked the item was in stock - which it was, found the price was good and placed the order. I paid upfront through Worldpay and as the item was in stock didn't think i had long to wait for delivery. A week later - nothing! Going into the second week i e-mailled Gamesplanet and received no reply. A few days later i again mailled them, still no reply, by this time it was getting near to the two week mark and i was getting concerned. After all a bargain is only just that if you receive what you have paid for, right? I then decided to use the telephone number on the site to talk to an advisor, after two days and ten phone calls i was still no further forward. The opening hours for customers to phone is between 8.30 and 5.30, despite phoning during these times and making sure i didn't call around lunch time, there was no answer! At this point i was getting mighty worried, so i logged onto the site and now saw a message saying there were technical difficulties and they would be back ASAP. This message has been there for days now, i am now approaching my 3rd week since i placed the order and have had no explanation to the whereabouts of the game i paid for.....nor have i received my game.
Would i shop with them again? I can say honestly NO! Their customer service is shocking, no replies to mails and no one manning the telephones. Also be aware that when you part with your money to Worldpay, if you don't receive your goods, they will not reimburse you, you have to take that up with the store you made your purchase - which can be difficult when communication is a one way street.
**This site, as the name suggests, sells computer and console games for all the major platforms. I've only made a purchase here once only(at present), my experience as outlined below being based upon the purchase of a Gameboy Advance game in August 2003.** When it comes to shopping online my needs are simple. 1) Show me a good price. 2) Get the item to me yesterday, if not sooner. Rarely do the two mix. If you want it fast, you pay extortionate postage - if you want it cheap, it often arrives days later having passed through 18 different countries. Not so with this site! Not only did they stock the game I was looking for (which is more than can be said for many of their competitors), they also had it at the cheapest price (based on my personal searches and use of the Kelkoo and Pricerunner comparison shopping engines), with FREE delivery to UK addresses. I placed my order at 2pm, had shipping confirmed at a little after 3pm (yes, it shipped just a little over ONE HOUR after ordering) and the game arrived the very next day! Amazing. Other stuff you might care about: Packaging - not great. Item tossed in a Jiffy Bag which just about protected it probably more through luck than anything else. Spammy stuff - Nope. Not one single piece of correspondence since, no newsletters, no special offers etc. Wonderful. Range - Only as good as your needs right? If they stock just one single game and it's the one you want then they rock don't they?. If they stock 1 million games and not the one you're looking for then they suck right? They had what I was looking for when many others didn't so that's my personal benchmark... Prices - Generally very competitive indeed in my experience. Shop around if you've got time, come straight here if not - that's what I'll be doing when I've actually got time to play games... :o( Navigation etc -
Erm, horses for courses. I find the site very easy to use, you might not. Is my credit card safe? - Dunno. They didn't steal all the money I haven't got so erm, yeah y'know...probably. Thassit. Any more questions go read one of the other reviews which aren't on here yet or go look at the site. Visit: http://www.gamesplanet.co.uk
