When I realised that needed to start watching the pennies closely I joined a number of survey sites to try and boost up my monthly income. LighSpeed is probably the best survey site I have joined, primarily because it has a low pay out threshold. Some of the others I have joined (onepoll, yoursaypays, opinion world, valued opinions) seem to take ages to pay out, but with LighSpeed you need just 115 points to get £1 sent to your Paypal account.

The surveys on LightSpeed do take quit a long time to compete in comparison to others, the average survey will take you around 20 minutes, but the points you receive as a reward reflect this and on average you will receive 80 points per survey (which equates to about 80p in Paypal money).

If you don't have a Paypal account then you can claim your points in vouchers - HMV, Amazon, Arcadia, Asda, Marks and Spencer's, John Lewis, House of Fraser, Homebace, Selfridges and Toys R Us all offer rewards in exchange for lighSpeed points, (as do many other companies).

In a similar way to valuedopinions, LightSpeed will often faze you out of surveys early in if you work in banking, journalism or PR, so if you work in any of these professions then LightSpeed probably isn't the survey site for you.

Surveys cover a range of topics, normally focussing on advertising and brand and on the whole I find them quite interesting. Although surveys don't seem to have a progress chart in the corner, so you never know how much you have left to complete, which can be frustrating.

On the website you can also enter mini-polls and you are rewarded with prize draw entries, unlike similar sites LighSpeed publish the winners, so although I haven't won personally it certainly seems genuine.

I seem to earn about £8 a month on LightSpeed and I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you have a Paypal account, because pay out it quick and you can convert it into cold, hard cash.
