Genie is a good website that provides free e-mail and text messaging. I only use it for text messaging, and so can only comment on that part of the service. When I started using Genie.co.uk in 1998, it was the ONLY free sms service available for all four of the mobile networks (especially One2One becuase at that time there was no web based SMS service at all)....hence I used it a lot.
