Advantages: Lots of options to increase your downline, more referrals=more money!

Disadvantages: no guarantee, some require initial investment

Anyone who has read my op 'No-More Johnny-No-Mates' will know how frustrating it is to get referrals for your gpf programs.

There are various ways in which you can get new referrals; some free and some require investment. All have their pros and cons...

A popular way is to add your referral link to your signature; the pre-set ending to all your e-mails in Outlook. Most sites will give you a line or two of text to add underneath your signature to tempt your e-mail recipients to 'click that link'.

Another popular way, if you own your own website, is to include a banner leading people to your referral site within your site. Again, most sites provide you with banners to use, you just need to link to their banner url and away you go (so I'm told, not owning a site I'm not clear how it works, but apparantly it does work).

Both these methods incur no cost, just a little time. The downside is that, as with any advertising/marketing (which is basically what you want to do to get referrals) pitching to a 'cold' market has a low return rate and you might not get many takers this way.

There are some sites that will list your referral links for free. Most of these sites have a 'basic' membership and a 'premier' membership. 'Basic' is free, you just list all your referral links and them direct people to that one site. 'Premier' costs (either monthly or yearly) and this cost grants you more chances to get referrals, sometimes you can get bonuses from the referral builder for people who join the site and pay, as you have done, and sometimes you get tuition on how to market effectively, etc.

These 'referral builder' sites are useful, and free (for basic). They enable you to list all your links for various programs, and find a few more if you want to. They also ensure that anyone who signs up to the referral builder under you, who also joins the sames
gpf sites as you, will be in your downline for those gpf sites.

Most gpf sites have a facility called 'gold membership'. For a one off fee, they will rotate your referral site with other gold members. This means that anyone who joins that site without being referred by someone else is randomly allocated to a gold member.

This can be an effective and quite cost effective way of getting bonus referrals. The downside if that you have to rely on the amount of traffic that site generates, and the more gold members, the lower your chances of being on that rotation on the right place.

The last method of getting referrals is to pay for advertising. You may have noticed that many of the paid e-mails you get are advertising other gpf sites. This is because you are a 'warm' market. You indicated your interest in such advertising when you joined. What this means to the advertiser, and to you if you choose to advertise, is a much higher likelihood of getting referrals.
As most of the e-mails you receive from these sites require you to actually look at the site, you are forced to see the product. This greatly increases the chance you will read on and join.

The pro is that adverising is much more effective in acheiving your goal of more referrals. The downside is that you have to pay. Prices differ from site to site, and it's worth hunting around (the referral builders will give you the links to other sites from which you can advertise from.

All in all, there are many ways you can advertise your referral link to get more referrals.

I have completely re-written this opinion in response to comments left by members. Having read and digested your thoughts, I have researched further, the result is above. Thank you for all your comments, I do read them. I hope those who read my previous version of this op approve of the changes. Jo

Thanks for your comments, sorry it's taken me a while to answer, as I've been ill.
a)I don't send out mnay e-mails, so there's no point, for me anyway, putting any referral links in my signature. I know a lot of people to this successfully, but in my case, it just isn't worth it.
b)I understood point three as meaning that I shouldn't leave referral links in my ops, which I don't. If anyone at Dooyoo disagrees with this interpretation, then I will promptly remove the line. This op wasn't about self promotion, but wanting to share a way I have found of getting referrals. I advertise because it means I can reach a much wider audience, and the way I advertise means that the audience it already 'warm', and I'm not imposing on my friends.
c)In answer to Ophelia's question, I'm not rich, but I have made real solid money on these programs, and I have increased this money by advertising to potential referrals. I believe in what I do, because I enjoy it and feel rewarded when someone signs up.

I hope this answers your comments, I look forward to reading more. Thanks
