Advantages: Easy, Free, Fun to be earning while reading

Disadvantages: Annoying, Mailbox cluttered with junk, Make cents in months - not dollars.

I am really someone that dreams of making money on the Internet with little of no work. I've tried market research schemes, pay-to-surf and of course - getting 'paid' to read emails.
In case you are unaware about this type of scheme you basically sign up and the website will send you adverts to your inbox, funded by the advertiser. If you follow a link or verify that you have read it - then your account will be credited.
In theory it does sound nice, money for nothing. However my experiences with these schemes showed me that it wasn't going to work.

Firstly I joined inboxcash.com, and this was the site that got me interested in these schemes. Inbox Cash claim to pay out up to $10 per email sent, infact they let you choose your earnings per email.
Of course what they don’t tell you is that advertisers will never fund for $10 for every member so after a few weeks of me being greedy, I lowered my asking price to only 1 cent. Surely now I would get some cash. Unfortunately 4 months on - I am yet to receive 1 email from them and so I can only presume that they are effectively closed.

Anyway, they wet my appetite for pay to read email schemes and so I signed up for more after more. Steadily the 1-cent emails began to roll in. I was getting pleased it looked like I'd easily make my target collection price soon on some sites.
2 months on I logged in to check my balances. The highest total I found was on inboxcash.net - and you read me right - I had made a massive 23 CENTS!

Oh dear, it looked like once again I had been had with some online schemes. However I refused to give up. So I looked into ways to boost my account - Referrals. Basically if you can refferer someone to sign up then you get a % of his or her earnings as well.
I placed it on my site and eventually I did get signups, and eventually again more cash began to flood in. I was pleased as I finally made the 50-cent mark.

Things began
to look up as the money came in a bit quicker. HOWEVER one small thing I had overlooked is that I had joined too many schemes that my email box was now full of these 'click the link to get paid' emails. So it took me about 30 minutes to clear them all each day.

It was starting to annoy me greatly and so I changed my mailbox leaving one especially for them. Hopefully I thought I’d get some pay in return for all this.

6 months has past. I am yet to get paid on ANY pay to read site. Infact I've given up. It's irritating to claim the cent per email; it's annoying to see your collection target is $25.

IN CONCLUSION, I would say pay-to-read email schemes could only pay out if you have delivered around 1,000 referrals in which case you could be earning a nice bit.
But to the average user I really wouldn't suggest taking them up unless you want to put up with the consequences:
Lot of adverts in your mailbox, Lot of swearing after the 5 months of earning cents, and the emotional scar it leaves on you for life... well... maybe, but It’s not worth the risk.
Oh and by the way – Pay-To-Read email schemes are my new ‘most hated’ object of the new century, topping even the AOL adverts. Yes, they really were that annoying for me!

Yep you are right - opt in and links2cash both run by Gilby Prod. The other is creationsrewards.net, where you undertake various tasks for points, at 2000 points you claim your $10. Generally I collect 30 points a day, so if you're on the net daily it soon mounts up....

so it is possible to make something? I bet your reffering to opt-in-pays somewhere, I found them not to bad.

By the way love your username - I used to live in Whitby (yorkshire, England - Not Ontario!)

Oops - forgot to say that the sites are more like 'paid to click' than paidmail so I generally get five emails a week from all three combined....

Bye ! Jules x
