Advantages: Good payout rate, fairly good rate of surveys

Disadvantages: Cheques take a while to come, surveys can dry up

This is one of the survey sites that I have been a member of for the longest and I must admit that it has always been my favourite. It hasn't been quite as good for me recently but I will get on to that later.

As you have probably guessed globaltestmarket.com is a site do market research. You can join the site and help them out with their research. In return you get money for doing it. The site is actually based in America but the surveys you get asked will be relevant to you. British companies ask them to send surveys out on their behalf.

To join the site all you have to do is fill out some basic details about yourself and also choose a username and a password. They then will e-mail you how to activate your account. There are a number of profile surveys that are there for you to fill out. The more of these that you fill out the more likely they will send you surveys, or so they say. It also should mean that they are less likely to send you surveys that are not relevant to you but this isn't always the case. It is a good idea to make sure you keep these profile surveys up to date so that you don't have the wrong surveys sent to you.

Once everything is filled in all you have to do is wait for a survey. These are e-mailed to you and you are told how many points you will get. When I first joined this site I didn't get too many surveys but after a while this started to pick up. I find that when I fill in a survey I sometimes get another sent to me. I don't know if this is because they know that you are at your computer or just coincidence though. At one point last year I was getting surveys every few days and building up points very quickly. Recently this seemed to slow down but I have had a few surveys in the last couple of weeks. I would say this site can change in the amount of surveys you get from time to time but overall is fairly constant.

The surveys can give you varying amounts of market points. These points all add up till you get to 1000 points and then you can redeem them for money. Surveys usually range from around 15 - 75 points, usually depending on how long they are. I find that most surveys are around 50 points, although I have had a lot more for less recently. Sometimes I find that you can have a survey that is only 50 points but seems to go on for years. One thing the site doesn't do which other sites do is tell you approximately how long the survey will be. I guess this covers them if it takes longer than expected. They do sometimes tell you this when you open the survey up. The great thing about the site is even if you don't qualify for the survey you still get given 5 points so your points will still add up.

The surveys in general on this site are not too bad in terms of length. I have had the odd fairly boring long survey but mostly they are OK to do and take less time than I think they will. For a while I was getting some quite fun surveys where you had to rate music and were worth 75 points. I enjoyed these but don't get them anymore. The surveys seem to come from different sites as they are often in different styles, some of which work much better than others.

When you have got to 1000 points or more you can redeem this for a cheque. This is where you need to make sure you have your address correct on your details. The annoying thing about redeeming from this site is that it takes 6 - 8 weeks for your cheque to arrive. The money is quite good though and converted from dollars, which usually is about £30 now. This amount can vary depending on the exchange rate at the time. Of all the sites this does pay out quite well. In total I have recieved 7 cheques from them in a couple of years so I think that is quite a good rate of pay. I am struggling towards my next cheque but hopefully it won't take too long.

One thing I would say is that when you get e-mails sent to you with your total of points on, this is often wrong. I usually go on to the site and check what my balance is just by logging on.

Overall I would say this is one of the better survey sites although recieveing your redemption cheque can take a while.

Summary: One of the better survey sites
