Advantages: Seemingly high rewards, clear layout
Disadvantages: Surveys close quickly
Yet another survey sight that promises much but delivers?.. ? I joined globaltestmarket.com in June last year on the promise of lots of money for filling in surveys. On joining up, you fill in the usual questionnaire about who you are and so on so they can send surveys that fit your profile. Surveys do seem to come in fits and starts. I have probably been sent around 20 or so. More recently they do seem to be arriving more often. However, you must be quick. I received one yesterday and today it was shut - so no points. Also some of the qualifying questions can disqualify you without real reason. One survey had the first question as - have you filled out a survey in the last 3 months? - yes / no. I answered yes and got disqualified. Ummm, but it was their survey! I emailed the support and got a bland answer saying they valued my membership and hoped it wouldn?t put me off doing more. In other words, ignoring the main point that they were disqualifying their members for doing their surveys recently!! The surveys themselves take between 3 and 15 minutes but this depends on connection speed. I had one a few months ago that took about 25 minutes to complete. Far too long. But then, I have had ones that they said would take 10 minutes and took me 5 so?. The layout is neat and clear, more conservative than ultra modern but that is not a negative in my eyes. The site works like this - for each survey you complete, you get points. A survey with or without product usage - up to 50 points. A survey where you are asked to sign a Confidential Disclosure Agreement - up to 100 points. Participation in an online focus group - up to 100 points. Referral of someone who subsequently registers and completes his/her first survey 20 points. Some of the surveys have a qualifying section. If you do not qualify for the main survey, you normally get 5 points. You can then redeem the points on a table of payments - obviously the mo
re points the more money. The points have a fixed value versus the US dollar - US $0.10 per MarketPoint or US$100.00 per 1000 MarketPoints. The way it works out, the more surveys you have completed for the level of points, the more money you get. Meaning strangely, you get more money for building up your points by failing to qualify for surveys! No of 1000 points 2000 3000 4000 5000 surveys 1-10 $50 $100 $150 $200 $250 11-20 $60 $120 $180 $240 $300 21-30 $70 $140 $210 $280 $350 31-40 $80 $160 $240 $320 $400 41-50+ $100 $200 $300 $400 $500 Payment can be made in US$ or by direct wire transfer in the currency of your choice. So anyone in any country can be a member. As yet, although I have qualified for the first payment, I haven't requested it yet, so cannot comment on speed, security etc although reading other reports it does seem reliable. OK, summary time. Lets get to the nitty gritty. Do I recommend it? A qualified yes. Why qualified? Well, I havent received payment yet and that is the main reason why everyone does these. Not for our own good but for good old cash. Once I get money, I will come back and update the op. Apart from that, the site is clear, well laid out and usually the surveys are quick to complete.

- 09/07/03 I had a $50 cheque from them last year (I think I'd requested wire transfer, but something must've gone wrong) |
