Living abroad has meant that I have become increasing dependent on the web to get travel info, for things like bus and coach timetables, buying tickets online, and making travel arrangements. I have quickly learnt from experience, both good and bad, which sites are worth their salt. gobycoach.com, the online booking service for National Express is one site I will be returning to, as it has thus far offered exceptional service.

I booked and paid via credit card, and my tickets were sent to me. Sounds easy, and yes it was. However the thing that impressed me was the far that they will send your tickets by post overseas as well as to addresses in England. I was able to receive my tickets by registered delivery at no extra cost, and they arrived in Vienna three days later, all at no extra charge.

The site itself is easy to use with a very good online timetabling service, and of course the opportunity to then buy tickets for the services. The frontpage has a very useful travel news section, although this has been known to be slightly out of date on occasions.

There is an option to register, which then allows you to personalise the site to suit your individual needs, although the great thing is that the whole site does work without having to register, so it you only need it once or twice you don't need to register.

More useful still is the fact that it links into the eurolines.com site, so that can travel further afield and still book through the site. All in all a very useful site and well worth bookmarking if you are a regular coach traveller.
