Searching With Google Goggles

Advantages: The Best Search Engine There Is
Disadvantages: Could Still Be Improved
Google is the world's most successful and most used Internet search engine. The search engine is free to use. It was founded in 1998 by Serge Brin and Larry Page and its headquarters are in California.
The company was recently valued at over 90 billion dollars and it has about 20,000 employees.
In 2006 Google bought YouTube the on line video file publishing and sharing web site but YouTube remains a separate web site.
Apart from the search engine Google provides Google Earth & Maps, Shopping Price Comparison, Blogging and Language Translation Tools.
What is great is that you can translate whole web pages between languages or transfer specific words or pieces of text if you wish.
You can also stipulate that initial web searches only look for web sites that are based in certain countries.
Google has become so successful and widely used that "Google It" or "Googling" are now officially recognized words in the English Language. Quite some achievement.
Their services are almost entirely free and are 99% funded by Google's advertising revenue. There are some premium paid for services available but most people stick to the free stuff.
Some advertisers pay to have their advertising embedded into web pages that are clicked on as a result of an Internet search by a user and some advertisers pay Google to have their web site appear as a sponsored link which means that it will appear prominently as an Internet search result either at the top or in the right hand margin of the search results page.
They also gain revenue from Internet searchers who find a product or service via a Google search and then click through to purchase it. Google will get a percentage of the sales revenue from the merchant for this.
There are other good search engines, but I like many will use Google all or most of the time because it is thought to be the best of the search engines and because of the add on features already mentioned that are easily accessible from the Google home page.
The only thing I don't like about Google is that the list of search results could be better prioritized than it currently is and perhaps show better information on the mini descriptions so that you don't have to go clicking on so many search results before finding the one that you really want.
