Google is by far the best search engine on the internet in my opinion. It is fast, returns plenty of results and is generally nice to look at.
So long as you have a good internet connection, you cannot fault Google's speed. It will return the results almost instantly and even has a module at the top of the search page telling you how fast it returned the results, (usually in about a tenth of a second or something silly like that!)
Google always returns plenty of results, I sometimes wonder how there can even be that many pages on the internet! However, it will also return relevant results which I find many search engines won't do. Usually only the first few pages or so are actually what you want, and it may sometimes show the same webpage as two separate search results, but I still think this is better than other search engines who will only usually display one useful result, if any.
I find Google is nice to look at and easy to use compared to other search engines. With most other search engines I find that their homepage is very busy which I find distracting and annoying. The only unnecessary part Google has is that there is a small module on the right hand side of the search results page, which I have never really been sure of the function. I have clicked on it a few times but it usually just takes me to more search results from other search engines, I think this is a form of advertising.
You can also customise your Google homepage to have games on it, to tell you weather forecast in different places or various other modules they have created such as word of the day and optical illusions! This adds a personal touch.
I have tried many other search engines in the past including those who give out prizes which you have the opportunity to win just for searching, however I have still stuck with Google. I have found that the opportunity to win a fiver with each search (which, by the way, I have never had happen), is just not worth it compared to the ease of use of Google and its far superior searching capabilities.
