Advantages: Easy to use, search engine par excellence

Disadvantages: sometimes lots of pages to search through

Google is a great little search engine and so much more. You can find practically anything you like. Recently one of my colleagues at work asked me to show her how to search on the internet, and this is where I went first. A few little tips to searching on Google I find useful are as follows - always use quotation marks around the specific word or phrase you are looking for, e.g. if you are looking for Park House Hotel, type it into the search box "Park House Hotel" then click on "within the UK" unless of course it is not! You will find it almost instantly this way and it saves lots of time and trouble. You will also find that if there is something specific in the name unique to it, such as Zubair, then if you just put this one word in quotation marks, you will find it very quickly too. It saves searching through hundreds of pages. You will find that Google images is also very useful if you are looking for images to use in internet related activities such as blogs or forums, and then you can save these images to your computer and use them as and when you need to.

All in all, I would highly recommend Google as a search engine par excellence.
