I cant remember the last time i logged onto my computer without using Google. Its amazing and i can find almost anything that i am looking for. Its the first place i go after i turn my computer on and in one session of sitting at my computer, i use it at least ten times.

I have found it to be a brilliant and completely invaluable resource to me.

If you have never used Google which im sure most people have, it is a web search engine and is actually the most used search engine on the web today.

I used to use a search engine called Webcrawler but i didnt like it as much as Google as the searches didnt seem to come up with the results i wanted as much as they do on Google.

Google is owned by Google Inc and it recieves several hundred million queries in a single day which i think is amazing! Google was launched in 1997 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

I love the way Google changes its insignia on the home page to go with the seasons or different occassions.

I remember last christmas the Google badge was covered in snow and surrounded by presents and last halloween it had ghosts and pumpkins around the name. Not all web searches do this so i think that its a really nice touch to have.

Google also provides several special features including weather forecasts, time zones, earthquake data, movie showtimes and sports scores to name but a few.

I also like the "Im feeling Lucky" button on Google where it gives the user the chance to be taken directly to the first search engine result by bypassing the search engine results page.

This works around eighty percent of the time for me personally when im doing a search and i think its a great tool to have. I also use the weather application quite a lot to see what its going to be like for the day.

All you have to do is type the word weather in quote marks and enter the postcode or town for which you want to check the weather. For example - "weather" belfast. This search will then give you the weather in Belfast. I think this is brilliant especially if you are going out for the day and want to see if it will stay dry.

Overall, i think Google is an amazing search engine and i will continually use it to help me find information i want. Its also free to use so is a great resource for everyone.
