Advantages: Parses entire documents instead of just Meta tags. Quick, reliable, always find you what you want.

Disadvantages: None!

Since I first discovered Google I have never looked back.

I have absolutely no hesitation is saying that it is the best search engine out there by a long way.

The best thing about Google is that it actually runs what you type into the search box through a parser which sifts through the actual HTML documents on websites, rather than just the titles and Meta tags, which is what most other search engines seem to do.

When you use Google, you never fail to find what you are looking for, it's always right there, bam, fast as you like, and the first 15-20 pages will usually be 100% relevant to your search, rather than the usual one or two with other search engines. (Well that's what I've found anyway - I never understood why so many people love AltaVista - it's always completely useless when I use it)

The site is also amazingly free from advertising, and searches very, very rarely seem to generate hits for porn sites, that you seem to get with all other search engines no matter what you type in.

Now the only time that I don't use Google is when I have to search for something that is based within the UK. For that I use either Lycos or excite.co.uk, but neither are a patch on Google, even if you use the advanced search features. (Which I have never really felt the need to use on Google - it is so good that I always find what I want straight way using the basic search)

Google has undoubtedly made my life a lot easier. I have to do a lot of very technical searches for my University course, and Google always picks out what I need, and does it fast.

Google is also extremely reliable - I've never known the site to be down.

There's a lot of junk floating about on the net, and search engines need to be able to cut through this. What's the point in all that information if you can't find the pieces that are useful to you?

Google achieves this - the quality of the docum
ents returned is always good, and I just cannot praise this search engine highly enough.

Give it a look, and I promise that if you do, you will never need another global search engine again!

Thanks - I'll try it!
Most Search engines drive me nuts - mind you I'm not the most patient of people.
Will let you know what I think of it.
