Advantages: Fast and Free, Thorough, Very easy to use

Disadvantages: I've searched but can't find any

I write this opinion having tried many search engines. Without a doubt www.google.com is my favourite one and it beats the others by some way.

A vital factor for any search engine is obviously the detail and by this I mean that it must search a wide range of websites from all over the world. Google definitely does this-to be precise it currently searches 1,346,966,000 webpages from across the globe(don't worry I did a recount!).

Google is also very fast compared to a lot of other search functions. I tried hotbot.com out and found myself waiting around for the results. Google usually takes about 0.10 seconds which I think is highly impressive.

There are a number of very useful options available to focus your search:

-You can search only the websites written in a particular language.

-You can search only websites updated in a certain time period.

-You can type in a webpage address and only search webpages similar to the one you have given

-There is a "SafeSearch" function which allows you to ignore websites containing explicit sexual content.

We were all novices to search engines at one point. For those who are making their debuts there is a "Search Tips" section to help you get to grips with the facility.

However this site is so straightforward that I am sure that the Tips section is very rarely used. You simply type what you want to search (in quotation marks if you want an exact phrase), hit the google search button, and Voila, Bob's your Uncle! Then the websites are listed with a short paragraph to describe each. You are given a number which tells you the amount of websites that have been found, and you are also told how long the search took. If you are still not happy you can start another search or even search within the given results.

To conclude what can I say other than its Fast,Free,Facile and definitely wor
th giving a go.
