 video.google.com Internet Site

video.google.com

Newest Review: ... Google then bought youtube, the market leader, and it sort of became an obsolete site. Today, you can't upload your own videos onto google video. Instead, it basically finds videos from other video sites and allows you to search them all on the site. The criticism of the site is that they just chuck loads of stuff on there and it isn't really organised in any noticable way. Like youtube, you can search for videos on there, and that's fine, but it doesn't contain the complete youtube catalogue, and since youtube is the market leader, there's no point in using it when youtube is better. Despite Google being such a big brand name, google... more

Google Video is a bit of an anomoly of a site. Basically, it began as a rival to youtube, and was set up as a site to which you could upload videos, as well as embedding them into your own site so that you didn't have to worry about the bandwith use. However, Google then bought youtube, the market leader, and it sort of became an obsolete site. Today, you can't upload your own videos onto google video. Instead, it basically finds videos from other video sites and allows you to search them all on the site. Premium Review Not quite YouTube (298 words)

Google Video is another video sharing site that has changed a lot since it launched and now has some great features. When Google Video first launched it was very similar to YouTube. The major difference was that you had to pay to post videos to Google Video, this was great for posters as there was less competition, but bad for users due to few videos and bad search results. It's no wonder that things have changed since then. Google Video is now more of an extension to the original Google allowing you to search through videos hosted on other websites. This means that you can find all YouTube videos there PLUS videos from other sites. The great thing ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review video.google.com: A scruffier youtube with a better search (185 words)

Google video in my mind has always been a dirty scruffier version of youtube. It still has this feeling I do not feel that it is likely to ever improve with Google seemingly putting all o their time into youtube. The website is essentially the same concept as youtube except that allows much longer videos to be uploaded which is useful. If i can, I avoid google video since I don't find it a very fun service to use. There are two circumstances which make me use it however. Firstly because you can upload longer videos on the site, sometimes it has videos that you don't find on YouTube. For example loose change the conspiracy video about 9/11 is much better ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Youtube wins this battle (160 words)

As some of you may well know, Google actually now owns Youtube. Gradually it appears that youtube is changing for richer and poorer! There are now additional adverts during videos, though this is balanced out with better serach results! There is now huge additional funding backing this project therefore the community can reach out further to the world. I find myself on youtube for hours on end, watching comedy compilations. The layout is far easier to navigate than youtube and knowing you're part of something huge is something special. I also find youtube more reliable rather than 'video no longer available', unless of course we're ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review video.google.com: Google video vs. Youtube! (199 words)

Video.Google.com was, i suppose a good idea, but has been much over shadowed by Youtube, but, since Google bought Youtube anyway, this website seems to have taken the same sort of interface as Youtube, but simpler. The website does look newer than Youtube, and has a cleaner "look" about it, but video to video, how does it compare? I open up both Youtube and Google video on the same video, a parody "Apple vs PC (Viruses)" and, although google video loads faster, and I previously said it has an uncluttered interface, youtube seems actually seems easier to use. could it be that Simple does not equal user friendly? First I play the Google ...  Read the complete review
