Advantages: Yummy snacks, suited to your tastes, delivered to you, Graze webpage for your ratings and orders.
Disadvantages: Could be to expensive for some people.
I have been pretty up and down with my weight recently, due to medications and the change in eating habits while at University. Recently I have been more motivated to keep a reasonably healthy diet, which includes battling my worst enemy, sweet snacks: chocolate, sweets and ice cream. I had known about the Graze Box scheme for a while, but as a treat I thought I'd give it a try with the free box, and then the half price box. Hopefully this would help my night-time snacking with healthier snacks.
- Graze -
Graze is a company who pride themselves on providing healthy snacks deliver right to your door, helping beat the sweet snack temptations. The foods are often low fat, low calories and releasing energy slower, which makes the consumer feel fuller for longer. On the About Us page on the website, it states that the company "We now spend all our time sourcing the foods we love and finding even better ways to get them to you.", although gives very little away about the company.
The company operating Graze is Nature Delivered Ltd.
- Ordering and Website -
The first thing you notice about Graze is the website, and to order the first box, you go through the process on the join now page. The process is extremely easy and quick, but you do have to enter credit or debit information, which is not unusual, but after your half price box Graze will keep charging unless you cancel the order.
After the registration, your taken to your own Graze Page, which holds your details and information on the next delivery and the box, which I really like and it's really useful o known when your box is coming and the cost of the boxes. Graze also encourages you to rate certain foods in there catalogue, which you can rate in 5 categories: Bin, Like, Try, Love and Send soon. This is so unique and helpful, as I can't stand Olives, so I can makes sure I never try them and have foods I'll enjoy. Definity recommend doing the rating before you get your first box, so helpful!
You can decide what days you want to receive the Graze box, suited to your timetable; I would think 2 a week would be perfect for me. Also Graze offer functions for if you're on holiday; you can stop the order for a week without cancelling it.
- Box -
The box came exactly when stated, and fits through the letter box, and the package is just shorter than an A4 piece of paper, so easy to travel with. The box is made of cardboard, and is from a sustainable forest, biodegradable and 100% recyclable, bonus for companies using green sources! The box contains for sections, which hold the snacks in plastic containers, with the lids having certain information on them, such as products, calories and flavours.
In the box there is also a book which contains the nutritional information for each product, which I think is really useful, especially for those watching their weight or salt intake. The booklet contains promotional information, such as vouchers for friends, giving them a free box and you a £1 off a box (anyone want one, let me know!) The personal touches on the box and booklets are a really nice touch.
- Snacks -
Graze have a huge selection of snacks including breads, fruits, cakes, nuts and seeds. The choice given to you is based upon the rating system, so you should get what you want.
For my first box I got:
-Cherry tomato bread - 4/5
- Ying and Yang (selection of dark chocolate, almonds and cherries) 3/5
- Herby bread selection (rice crackers, garlic croutons) 5/5
- Apple and Cinnamon flapjack. 5/5
For the second box I got:
- Festivals fruit (dried pear, blueberries) 4/5
- Green olives with chilli and garlic 0/5 (hate olives!)
- The Herb Garden (rice crackers, dried bread) 5/5
- Lemon and Poppy slice and tea 5/5
Overall, I like the selection of snacks in the box, the have a great taste, especially the cakes and breads are definitely feel very filling. The flavours have a great balance, and taste really yummy, plus the nutritional benefits are really attractive too. The only issue I have is the size on the snacks, you get a handful, and connected with the price, I don't feel it is worth the full price.
- Pricing -
Graze currently have a first box free, and next box half price for new customers, which is a nice incentive to join, but the normal price is £3.95. The box is delivered free.
- Cancelling -
Unfortunately, I had to cancel my order after 2 boxes, I did want to carry, but money is tight this month, and cancelling the order was very easy, you just click on the weekly boxes and you have a choice to cancel permanently or stop for a week. Cancelling you just click yes to cancel, and Graze will offer you the next 2 boxes for £2.99, a really good offer to keep you a customer, and if you want to cancel just click no thanks to offer.
- Opinions -
I absolutely love the idea of Graze box, healthy snacks delivered to your door, and I have to say that it has definitely helped kicks off wanting to eat and be more healthier, it definitely combated the need for sugary snacks, as these were just as yummy! The only problem I have is the price, as money is tight in our house lately, the £3.95 is abit to expensive for me, but when you take off the cost of delivery it could be quite reasonable, but I've just left to buy seeds from the supermarket!
Summary: So yummy, but not a regular thing for me.
