Advantages: Cashback, clear site to use, excellent support desk, high street cashback

Disadvantages: £25 minimum limit for a payout

I started using Greasy Palm a couple of ago and so far have received over £200 worth of transfers from them.

Greasy Palm is one of many cashback sites. You register with the site, follow a link to one of their recommended retailers and then receive cashback in your Greasy Palm account for any purchases you make. One your GP account balance reaches £25 they transfer money to your bank account via BACS (this happens at the beginning of every month). You can also receive cashback for entering competitions, taking out credit cards or registering your e-mail address with websites such as the National Lottery.

The amount of cashback you receive varies and you don't always have to spend money yourself to get cashback. At the lowest end there is a section called daily clicks where shopbots such as High Street Web will pay you 2p every day for doing a search on their site. Doesn't sound like a lot, but doing this every day would earn you £7.30 over a year - all depends if you can be bothered really! There are also many sites that will pay you 20p to £1 to register with them/go on their mailing list. There are also many retailers such as Play, HMV, Argos, House of Fraser, Abe Books and WHSmith (the list goes on) who will pay a percentage of what you spend with them as cashback - typically 1%-5%. The companies that pay the most cashback are the insurance companies, utility companies, financial institutions etc who sometimes pay as much as £70 if you take out car insurance with them - well worth a look through if you're looking at changing your insurance or taking out a savings account.

The site is very easy to navigate - all of the online shops/retailers/service providers they link to are presented in an A to Z catalogue, or you can browse through them by category, for example, clothing, health and beauty, financial services etc. There is also an option to add a retailer to your 'favourites' list - that is, a specific list of retailers you shop through often so you can easily find them.

I have found that in 95% of cases my cashback has been awarded promptly and for the correct amount. On the couple of occasions when it has not registered I have simply filled in a ticket and submitted it to the helpdesk. Compared to a lot of sites I have found the support staff at Greasy Palm exceptionally good and any missing cashback has been awarded within a few hours.

Another feature of the site which is different from many cashback sites is the ability to get cashback on some of your high street shopping purchases. You simply register your debit/credit card details with them and then any time you use that card in a participating shop cashback gets added to the site. At the moment the choice of retailers is very limited (just five - Superdrug, JB Sports, Little Chef, Halfords and Cine World) but Greasy Palm say that more retailers will sign up.
Other bonuses of the site include:-

- A 'refer a friend' scheme - for every friend you refer who then gets to £15 cashback, you receive £7
- Forums where members flag up particularly good offers
- Reviews of online shops/products
- a 'rebate catcher' tool which lets you know if you are on a website which GP awards cashback for.

If, like me, you frequently do shop online this site is well worth signing up for - at the end of the day it's free money back on purchases you would have made anyway, and even if it does take a couple of months to receive your first payout it is well worth it!

Summary: Won't make you a fortune, but definately worth a look
