Advantages: Good choice of shared acocmodation

Disadvantages: Few flats to rent

Gumtree describe themselves as the London community, however, the home page has got links to the partner websites in many other countries and cities in UK.

Gumtree is an online classified company.

Most categories are free to post, the only ones which I know are not free are the real estate one, if you are an agency (yes, let them pay!) and the job section, regardless of your status (I wanted to post an advert for a plumber once, but I was asked to pay 19.50 Pounds)

The home page is where you have all the different options and is very easy to navigate and intuitive.

In my experience, I have used this website both to look for tenants for my own flat and to look for a flat to rent myself (the reason why I had to rent is because I changed job)

I got a decent response when I put the ad myself and in the end I found good tenants, while I found that it was very hard to find an available flat. The offer is not great either. I think Gumtree works better for shared accomodation than for flats.

Summary: It is free anyway
