Advantages: great site for buying and selling

Disadvantages: adverts not being updated is irritating

Gum tree.com is a sales site very similar to a classifieds site, you post free advertisements on there for things you want to buy or things you want to sell just like you would in a news paper but instead of paying for it it is free and can reach a much wider audience this way although people can choose to search just the adverts in there area.

I have used this site for buying and selling items, the search engine on there is great to find what you are looking for when you want something in particular, you just type in the item you are looking for, have the option of selecting a price range of cheapest to most expensive you are willing to pay to shorten the list you get or you can leave this blank and you use your post code or home town name to get the adverts in order of nearest to you first. once you have found an item you want to buy there is a contact seller link that sends them an email and you write any questions you have in this box.

Advertising on there is just as easy, you just have to register your details which doesnt take long and start a new advert, you put in a heading to atract attention to the advert then in the box below give more details on the item you have for sale then the price or leave it for offers, it is available to be seen almost instantly by other members.

There is a realy wide range of categories on there ranging from property for sale or rent, vehicles for sale, clothes, furniture, pets etc just like you would find in a news paper.

My only dislike of this site is that you find adverts that people havent bothered to update when the item has been sold which is rather irritating other than this it is a god site.
