There are very strict guidelines and rules about what you can and cannot say in an article. Once your article is accepted, other researchers can then comment on it (is this sounding familiar?) You do not have to propose new sections. You just write your article and, if it's accepted, they place it in an appropriate place for you. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy web site has recently been redesigned. It is now officially part of the huge BBC site. If you're looking for information about the books, radio/tv series or Douglas Adams, this isn't the place to come. The idea behind the guide is that "researchers" write articles about any subject they wish, and editors read the articles and decide whether they should go into the guide. Having just read the hitchhikers series I went looking for websites. Finding many different ones I soon came across this one. Great, I thought, this should be amusing. And it was....for a bit. There are some great points. Some I even put into e-mail and sent to my friends. Some of the entries can have you in stitches. It even had the option of visiting it on my WAP phone. But it soon became boring. There are only a few entries that interested me and the conversations were dragged out. People often took ages to reply. www.h2g2.com I was delighted when I found the H2G2 site as I've been a fan since I heard it on the radio many many years ago. My immediate impression was - hey what a great idea! They're going to create a real Hitch Hikers Guide (Earth Edition). And my initial wanderings around the site were both interesting and amusing. The discussion thread on the Hanging Gardens of Babylon for example - quite a few speculations finally terminating with "No - this was the gardens where the hangings actually took place" - well, it amused me anyway.
