Advantages: Great quality
Disadvantages: A bit expensive
I like to shop online these days as it is makes life so much easier with a husband and son who both hate shopping unless it is for something that they are after!
I came across hallmark after doing a google search and decided to try them out.
==www.hallmark.co.uk==
When you go to the website you will see straight away that it looks simple and easy to use.You can either purchase a card to post or you can send a free ecard.
**Personalise a Card**
It says on the main page that you can personalise a card in 3 easy steps.
1. Occasions
You will see a drop down menu with different occasions ranging from birthdays, anniversary, good luck and get well. There is quite a good list to choose from.
2. Who`s it For?
The next thing you do is pick who the card is for, I chose dad as it is my dad in laws birthday soon.
3. Search
Just click on the button.
You are then taken to a new page where you will see a good range of cards, on the left hand side is a menu which tells you what style of cards are on offer like character, classic, funny and cute. If you want a closer look at the card just hover your mouse over it and you will see a bigger picture, once you have picked your card just click select.
You are then taken to a new page where you can chose your card size, if you click on the card size guide this will bring up a little window and you will see how much it will cost to buy a card.
* Small card 103mm x 144mm - £1.95 + 47p postage
* Regular 137mm x 195mm - £2.90 +47p postage
* Large 204mm x 290mm - £5.80 + 70p postage
You can also view inside the card and then if you are happy with the card you can personalise it, some cards you can only personalise inside the card, others you can add text on the front.
Once you are happy with your purchase click add to basket you will then be taken to a new page where you will need to register your details if you have not used the website before. It will ask you for the usual details such as name, date of birth and e-mail address.
You will then be asked if you want the card to be sent to yourself or the recipent, then you just have to fill in the delivery information and choose a delivery date.
Finally you go to the checkout where you will need a debit or credit card.
**Send an e-card**
Until today I have never used this but seeing as I am writing this review I thought I would give it a try. There are so many different ecards to choose from, I picked a card, I clicked on the card and had to fill in my e-mail details and a recipents e-mail address. Then I wrote a short message, I was able to add little smileys to my message which looked quite good. Then I clicked to preview the message and finally on send ecard.
==What do I think?==
If you buy a hallmark card you know that you are buying a good quality card, yes it will cost a lot more than other card shops but I like that I can add a personal message to my card and that it gets delivered to the door without me having to worry about going into town to go to the card shop. I think that the postage and packing is very reasonable as I know some websites charge well over £1.
My cards have always turned up on time and the cards always look great, I shall carry on using this website in the future.
I actually sent an ecard to myself, I recieved the card almost immediatley, so I clicked on the link and I had to watch a short ad while my card was loading. Then there was a forever friends ad and finally I could view my card! I don`t think I will be using the ecard service in the future as I hate ads and know that my friends and family do as well.
Summary: If you are looking for a good quality card try this website.

- 11/09/09 I will definitely give this a go next time I need to send a card. Sounds very convenient. No more wasted trips into town only to find that the card shop has a rubbish selection. Great review :) |

- 05/09/09 I'm not so keen on ecards - not sure why |

- 03/09/09 Sounds a bit like the 'Moon Pig' site. Hallmark are, as you say, good quality cards. Interesting that they also do ecards, those are such fun to send and receive. Good review. |
