Advantages: An honest opinion of the club
Disadvantages: For fans only!
In 1929, Botwell Mission Football Club changed it's name to Hayes F.C. So, logically, I named this site, which is dedicated to everything Hayes, The Botwell Missionary. It's not endorsed by the club, but as there is no official site, it's currently the only place to get reliable (and dodgy) information about Hayes Football Club. It first appeared in December 1997, as a direct result of there being nothing about Hayes on the 'net. As all but one of the other Conference clubs did have something to offer, I decided to redress the balance. The first efforts by my own admission were poor, and it took a while to get anything credible together. But with the help of Nick Bell, the now famous match reporter, and the support of many Hayes fans including JVL, and not to mention Morgunhund, things have taken shape nicely. Being the webmaster I cannot be to critical of the site, I'll leave that up to you. Basically you have to be a fan of football, and Hayes FC in particular to get anything from 'The Botwell Missionary'. We have all the club, fixture, player information, the supporters club shop, a visitor guide and a few images in the gallery. There is also a brief history of Hayes FC, match reports of most of the games. Interactively we have a regular 'Man of the Match' vote, a guest book, a fan's forum, which is where the fur can really fly, a rather quiet mailing list and the occasional poll. This season we started a patron scheme to promote ourselves, and raised £200, all which went to the club in one form or another. So there it is. Tell me what you think! www.hayesfc.co.uk.
