I'm all up for a bit of celebrity gossip, but more and more these days the celebrity gossip magazines are becoming less and less value for money than they were a few years ago. As more and more of these type of magazines pop up on our shelves, there is just not enough celebrity gossip to provide an exclusive, so you tend to end up with rehashed stories with a slightly different spin on them, or even worse a headline on the front which sounds interesting, but when you actually open the magazine it isn't a quote from a celebrity, but from "a source close to ...." which is just another way of saying "we made it up!" I love celebrity gossip, it's not something I'm proud of and my boyfriend often questions why I care who is pregnant, who wore what to a premiere and who has cheated on who. The answer is I just do. I can't explain it but I need to know. Well maybe 'need' isn't the right word but I definitely 'like' to know. I think this is because I like to switch off from the real world and it's horrors, and my own life in general and what better way to do this than to read about someone else's absurd life, the world of celebrity is fascinating and so UNREAL that it's fun to just read about this fiction.
