Advantages: Be positive
Disadvantages: Do not be negative
Given the dynamic nature of Dooyoo and the fact that a new review is uploaded on average every 5-10 minutes, I think that the best way to help new members is to leave comments on their reviews.
Other possibilities could be setting up some bulletin board or forum, but I think that this is not in our interest and in the interest of Dooyoo, because they want the traffic to go towards the reviews. The question therefore becomes, what kind of comments should be left.
I still consider myself relatively new to Dooyoo, but at the same time I have been here long enough to have built a good knowledge of the kind of comments which are left.
Most of the times comments seem to be positive and encouraging, also in those situations when the review is not sufficiently long for some people who review it.
Still, I find that a little bit more could be done in order to highlight what was positive in the review of the person who wrote it. I would also suggest that in those situations, and these are many, where the same topic has been covered in may be a better way by another reviewer, we add the link to this review to the comments, so that the new person can read it and have an idea of a good review.
Thank you for reading!

grahamt - 02/04/08 I would suggest that you take a look around the site, especially at reviews that regularly get VU ratings, so as to see what other reviewers look upon as a good review.
Dooyoo itself probably doesn't need its own forum although I have suggested this. There is always www.reviewwritersforum.co .uk, which has a Dooyoo section. |
