Advantages: You dont have to leave your home unoccupied.
Disadvantages: A gamble that the Home swapper doesnt leave your House as they found it.
Most people enjoy going on Holiday, but there is always a nagging doubt in your mind about leaving your House unoccupied. You try not to think about it,but the thought of someone entering your Home and stealing all your precious hard worked for possessions seems to linger in your mind.I know it crosses My mine a few times while I am on Holiday. Not that I get to go very often. So maybe the following site might just be the answer to set your mind at rest. "www.homeexchange.com" I was amazed at just how easy it would be to find the ideal Home to swap, that's providing yours and the other Home owner match up with each others requirements exactly, regarding the time of year, the country you want to stay in and the type of accomadation you require. Join the Home exchange e-mail magazine for details on how to go about choosing your ideal Home swap and listing your own Home, complete with helpful suggestions and tips on how to go about finding the right place for yourself and your family. You can actually view other Homes available which are advertised on the site. Select what Country you are interested in,then the area and read all about the Home itself. First you see a photograph of it and underneath you can read the following detailed descriptions. A Home in Upper Captiva Island. Called a tree House, providing comfort and value on a unique Island retreat surrounded by natural beauty and wildlife. It is nestled in lush tropical trees, including sea grapes and coconut. You are welcomed to experience relaxing uncrowded privacy offered by this vacation cottage, which includes the amenities, priviledges and dedicated staff at the North Captiva Isand club. Next it tells you about the neighbourhood and whats located near the area. You can reach the Island either by boat, water taxis or small aircraft. There is no traffic or pollution because no gasoline powered vehicles are a
ctually allowed on the Island. To get around the Island guests are provided with Golf carts and they are free of charge. Other information is that you can relax on the uncrowded sandy white beaches. The temperature is warm all year round, the island is famous for its superb fishing, which can be done from boats, the beach or rental at the marina. At the top of the page is a green link, this will give you even more detailed information, like the features in the House, when the House was built and about the interior decorating. They include a photo gallery which shows pictures of the surrounding area which can be enlarged. There is even a piece of information about the shops and restaurants available on the Island should you choose not to bring your own food. Then you can read the dates the Home is available in this case all year round. The rates are variable depending on the season and if you are interested in this Home you just write a message in the e-mail box shown also give your name and own e-mail address and press send. Your message then, either goes direct to the Home owners e-mail or via Home exchange to pass to their e-mail address. In return the Home owner will be able to give you their prices and dates available. There are hundreds of Homes available from cottages in the USA,to a deluxe one bed apartment in Hong Kong. A two story Home in Kyoto Japan,a Villa in Thailand, A four bedroom family Home in Brisbane Australia and in Perth someone is looking for a long term swap (up to 2 years) they offer a loving restored and decorated four bedroomed House. "I could be tempted on this one except I couldnt afford the air fare, never mind I will just have to dream on." In fact the list for Australian Homes is huge I am sure there would be something for everyone here. There's also Stately Homes in Texas to apartments in Paris, the list is endless. You will def
inately be spoilt for choice. If you want to stay in the UK there are loads of Home swaps listed here for nearly every area in the Country. A handy location search is available to help you find just what you are looking for. Enter the time of year you would require the Home, the country you want to go to and type in keywords to narrow your search down to. To advertise your own Home you will have to pay the Home com listing fees which are given as 30 dollars, for twelve months, converted this will be £25.45. After that it goes down to 15 dollars a year or £10.22. These fees can be paid via credit card and your details will be sent through a secure server. You can access travel links and visit the book store section to purchase Books on the subject of Home swapping. There is a huge list of testimonys from people who have used the service and have written to tell others about their success stories. Overall opinion of this site. It is an excellant site,I am impressed by the amount of detail given to most of the Homes I viewed. The idea of Home swapping is ideal,at least you wont have to worry about leaving your Home unattended. This leaves you free to relax and enjoy your Holiday. Some people might worry about the way the swappers would treat your own Home,it is a gamble but if they have to register through Home exchange they are not likely to abuse your Home, otherwise they wouldnt be able to use this service again would they? Although I didnt manage to view any prices,I am sure it would be a very cheap form of accomodation while on your Holiday. It is well worth having a nosey at this site, even if its only to dream about,as their are some wonderful Homes available.

- 09/03/01 I know of three people who went away on Holiday last year and when they returned there Homes had been broken into.
One was My own parents.
My Mum spent weeks after, meticulously cleaning everywhere She thought these evil people might have touched over and over again.Even the Banister Handrail.
It has put Her off the thought of going away again,So I am sure for some people the idea of Home Swapping would give piece of mind that their Home is less likely to be broken into if it is occuppied. |
