Advantages: Clever humour and wordplay, wide range of appeal, cleaner humour than almost anywhere on the web.

Disadvantages: a lot of material, much of it daunting to a new viewer.

If you've never visited homestarrunner.com, you're probably missing out on the greatest website and the funniest cartoon ever made.

The main problem is knowing where to start, since there are literally hundreds of cartoons in various categories, and many (particularly the most recent) rely heavily on in-jokes that have built up over the years. On the other hand, starting with the earlier toons is also not the best idea unless you are willing to commit to see the whole thing through, as the quality has risen immeasurably in the time since the site began as a tiny project between the two brothers responsible.

Best thing to do is probably to just jump in and start exploring, bearing in mind that it'll all make sense eventually. It's extremely rewarding if you've got the time, believe me!

One thing to bear in mind as you begin; all of the voices on the site (with one or two tiny exceptions) are produced by three people, and all of the animation is done by only two.

Summary: worth the time it takes to get a hang of what's going on!
