I was the most horse mad of teenagers. I grew up in a small, affluent town in Wales, with very few facilities for bored teenagers. Consequently, parents were faced with two choices for their daughters. Either get them into horses, praying that they don’t fall off and severely injure themselves or risk boredom leading to underage sex and Class A drug addiction. My parents preferred the former option and so I had horses from the age of 13 until I went away to university at 18. As much as I got away with hanging out with friends and drinking and smoking at parties, I was always careful not to get caught and stayed well clear of dodgy drugs, knowing full well ... I am an avid book reader, but more specificly to do with my hobby which is horseriding and anything horsey related. Problem being the high street book shops don't sell them and neither do they cater for my boyfriend and his father who are more into larger forms of horsepower-i.e race cars! They only really have general interest books so finding something as specific as "Building and racing your own Mini" or "Think Like Your Horse" (sounds weird i know-but its a behaviour book-honest!), is impossible. Using Amazon.co.uk however, i have managed to cater to both our needs especially when it came to Christmas and the inevitable question of ... Read the complete review

I got fed up going to the bookmakers, every Saturday, so decided to sign up on line. I chose Ladbrokes. I'd spent a good hour picking out winning horses. So I was somewhat disappointed when I couldn't log on. After I'd spoken to tech support, I found out I had to have internet 5.1 to enable me to use the functions. Unfortantly this took two hours to download. I'm impressed with the site. It's easy to use, and to sign up for an account with either debit or credit card, the min you can credit your account with is £5.00, I liked the football site, where you can bet which team you think will get the first corner, throw in etc. It's quite a good site, ... I dont understand Ladbrokes betting site. When you log onto it, (and if you have audio) you hear a man say " for tax free betting on horses dog and other sports, go now to www.ladbrokes.com". Well, pardon me but the site is at .co.uk not .com!!! I know because when I try and access my account at .com, it tells me I dont exist! They really have to sort this out. Its handy having an online account though. It means I can sit there on a Saturday afternoon with Channel 4 on and the internet and gamble to my hearts content! Simple. No bookies needed. no smoky offices full of old men. Just the comfort of my Living room whilst I cheer on my ... Read the complete review

Horseweb is one of the best horsey websites that I have come across. It is updated daily so always worth a visit. It is full of information on various horsey subjects and has a section to buy and sell horses, horseboxes etc. One of the best features is its problem page forum where you can write on the board your particular horsey problem or question and then other horsewebbers will read through and answer you query if they can, this works obviously vice versa so that you can just browse the problem page to help others. There are loads and loads of links to other relevant sites which are extremely helpful especially the veterinary links. ... Read the complete review
