Advantages: can use anywhere

Disadvantages: some public computers do block you from using the site

Hotmail is an email account that once signed up can be accessed from any computer with internet access. Simply enter the web address: www.hotmail.com into your browser, then on the left hand side click on 'sign up'. You can create whichever email address you like, it can be as wacky or sensible as you like. Although it does have to be original, if anyone else already have the address hotmail will give you options such as adding a number on the end, or making use of symbols such as '-' or '_'.

Once you have signed up you can easily access your account by using the same address but clicking on the right hand side 'sign in'. Once in your account, some files are listed down the left hand side;
Inbox - emails that you receive
Junk - emails that hotmail think are spam/junk
Drafts - emails that you have created but are not quite finished can be saved here
Sent - emails that you have sent
Deleted - emails that you have had in but then deleted
You can easily move emails between these file by simply clinking the drop down box 'move to'

There are many more functions available to use such as photos, calendar and MSN, which I don't use. Probably because these are a lot more commonly used sites such as facebook.

I find hotmail very easy to use and the best thing is that you can access it anywhere. Meaning that when I was away travelling I could check my emails from any internet café. I sometimes also use it to transfer documents, for example emailing myself with a file attached, opening the email when I am another computer and then saving the file.

I love my hotmail account and would be lost without it.
