Advantages: It's free, very easy to use, accessible easily
Disadvantages: None yet
I have been using hotmail since I got an email address, and I have to say I find it really useful. I still have the same email address now.
I can't for the life of me remember how I set it up, and I imagine nowadays it is a bit different but I don't think it was very hard when I did it so it can only be easier now. I think it took about half an hour back then.
Anyway, the actual service itself is great. I have used hotmail from all over the world. It's so simple and easy to log into plus it's free.
To log in you simply go to their website enter your email address and your password and you have access to your emails.
I know that there are a lot of companies that offer free emails, and I can't really compare as I don't have an email account with any of them but I can only say that I don't have any problems and haven't had any with my account.
I think they do however have a few issues with people hacking into accounts and changing passwords, but I think that is very rare, and I think if you change your password on a regular basis that is more avoidable.
With your email address and password you can also use msn messenger for free, which was good a few years ago but now with the likes of facebook and other social networking sites it seems to have died out.
I find hotmail very easy to use and navigate round, they also have a pretty good junking system for spam emails, and you can create folders and move emails around very easily. I'm not sure of the amount of storage space on there but I have lots of photos on mine and I haven't filled it to capacity yet.
All in all I would say a brilliant free email service provider. Easy to use, and easily accessible throughout the globe, (unless you are somewhere remote without a computer or the internet obviously). I would really recommend hotmail.
Summary: A great service would recommend.
