Disadvantages: Only 10MB for attachments
I have used hotmail for around ten years now and have never really had any problems with it. It is free to use which made me interested in it in the first place.
The account was relatively easy to set up when I did it, I just had to choose what name I wanted to have before it. I wanted a series email rather than something fun so I elected to just have my name. This proved to be a good choice as I often use my hotmail to send emails to companies or for work purposes. One of my only problems I have when sending important emails is the fact that hotmail add a little advertisement on the bottom of emails. It is often only something simple like telling you that you can sign up to hotmail for free, or to go to the msn website.
I like hotmail as it lets you store a large amount of emails and the current limit stands at 5gb. You can also extend your storage but this comes at a small annual fee.
It is easy to attach files when using hotmail and you can send upto 10MB in an attachment. I sometimes wish this was more when I send large files or when I want to send a few files in one email.
When you sign into hotmail you are taken to the home screen where you can see if any of your friends have recently uploaded a new picture to their profile on msn messenger.
Hotmail has a junk mail filter which I find very good. I have signed up to lots of websites over the years and all the junk gets caught in there, but you have to be careful as sometimes important emails get sent to there if the email address is not recognised.
I find hotmail extremely easy to use. I have tried other email accounts before but have found some of them more complex and unreliable. I also trust hotmail as it is made my Microsoft.
Summary: Good email for personal and business use
