Advantages: Fast, Secure, Good Spam Filtering
Disadvantages: It's Devils's Spawn, a.k.a. a subsidiary of Microsoft
What can be said about Hotmail that hasn't been said before? Well, it's pretty damn good: that hasn't been said much, as far as I can see! Why's everyone so pissed at Bill Gates anyway? Probably jealously as far as I can see. Everyone is out to make a quick buck, it's just that he's done it quite quite - to the power of $20 billion - well. One of the pillars of the Microsoft Emporium is the Hotmail site, and rightfully so in my opinion. It boasts a number of innovative and just plain GOOD features that makes it easy to see why it's customer base of millions is growing everyday. For many new users, a Hotmail address is the de facto standard for the Internet. After an admittedly much-needed facelift, the Hotmail site is now bigger and better than ever. The welcome page flaunts the obviously MSN owned sites, while the collapsible folder list is a welcome innovation. The navigation tabs at the top of the page make, ahem, navigation, a sinch! The junk mail filter is back as well, and it's more kick-ass then ever, and it now boasts more protection than a Durex factory... Those "Crap I Deleted It" days are now a thing of the past with a Windows-like Deleted Items Bin, and the whole interface brings the site much closer to the MSN Explorer Release of last year. It's also a lot faster of late, and the security leaves nothing to be desired. The antiviral scanner has surely done more to halt the spread of net viruses than any other site - if only every webmail boasted such a feature!! Tighter integration, here we come, but as a stand alone site, Hotmail does an excellent job, and is more than capable of taking care of it's self without any interference from Bill Gate's Evil Tower of World Domination.... Hotmail? It's smokin'!!
