So you think you are Hot eh? Well maybe you are but maybe you are Not!
How many times have you in your sad little life looked in the mirror and thought “tell you what I am a bit of a looker” only to look back the next day after a blank night at the club with disappointment. How do you score out of 10?
You come back from holiday and you and your mate have pictures of the girls you pulled. Needless to say he claims his is better but you know better – but can you prove it?
And finally you have had that new £2.99 designer hair cut at the barbers and want to know if you are now better looking.
The solution to all of these quandaries is the web site known as Hot or Not.
Basically Hot or Not provides a couple of things – it rates and mates you (well if you want it to).
First of all you submit a link to your photo. To do this you must be able to host your photo. If you don’t have a web site as such this is best done with geocities or something. Your picture is then moderated, as are your comments that go with it. There is no point sending a picture of yourself naked, even if you somehow look good – you wont get on!
From that point you are voted on by the Internet community at large. You can then go and check your score. After around 200 votes (more for Women) you get your final score. You can then if you wish resubmit another picture so we what score you would get with that.
The next feature is to meet people. You don’t have to enable this option. Here your picture is shown to people and they can choose whether they want to meet you or not. If you then meet people AND select the same person who has chosen you a double match is created.
If you are lucky enough to get a double match (hint: if you are bald and over 30 chances are that the young and talented 18 year old’s are not going to click yes on you – get realistic with your choices!) you can view them when you logon.
You have a
couple of choices now. Firstly you can send a small predefined note to your match – not much useful really. Second you can send an e-mail but this costs money - $5.95 a month. There are also other more complicated subscription schemes.
If you want to cheat the system a little you can do a bit of private investigation work however. Right click on your matches photo and you should be able to get to there web site and maybe contact them.
