Advantages: Can talk off topic to all your pals, simple and easy, ever so friendly and welcoming
Disadvantages: none, none, none
Since joining Dooyoo I have said to so many of you that I find it hard to break into the community. I'd love to build friendships here but I'm a little to shy to join the opcom site yet - despite loads of encouragement from regulars here. What I've wanted is a guestbook - I'm not going to deny that I have this idea from Ciao. I have joined many chatrooms and message boards in the past but have ended up lurking in fear of saying something stupid and being classed as a dunce or no-hoper. What I have loved about the guest book at Ciao is that I can gradually build up friendships and pass comments that are off topic with no fear of upsetting anyone. This has been such a benefit to me that I now feel part of the big community there. OK So why harp on about it here?? The reason for this posting to is praise ILoveJackDaniels or Dave for giving me the opportunity to DOO the same thing here at Dooyoo. As you may have read from Broksababe and Squiggles opinions earlier in the day - WE NOW HAVE A GUESTBOOK FOR DOOYOO'RS. I won't apologise for the capital letters because I really think that we should be shouting it from the roof tops. It's a great idea that will help people like me to slowly build our confidence and get to know the regulars on the Dooyoo site. I hope that Dooyoo notice the activity going on and think about making it a formal part of their own site. In the meantime though what can ILoveJackDaniels offer you? Read on.... He has already set up the random Dooyoo opinion selector it's old news I know but the address for that is on his Dooyoo profile page together with the link to his own programme which provides us with this great new tool - the Dooyoo Guestbook. So how do you register?? Go to ILoveJackDaniels Dooyoo profile page and copy/paste the link to the host site (I'm reluctant to post a link in this opinion
in case it gets erased etc). Click on the link to register which is soooo quick and simple and then you are ready to go off and post messages to all those in your circle of friends and more. I'd suggest getting your own 'message board' looking fine and dandy before going and posting messages to all of your friends. If you select your own page and scroll all the way to the bottom you will see the option to change the colours used in your page. I thought this was a bit daunting at first but by pressing help I easily realised that I could change fonts and background colours just by entering a simple code - brilliant. When I first joined I naturally wanted to go and thank Dave for this great idea. When I went to his guestbook I saw all types of emoticons - smiling faces, laughing faces (god have they got big teeth) and thought I'd bite the bullet and ask how to use these - it couldn't be simpler, write your message and click on help to learn the symbols for all these lovely characters. Since joining today I have heard from nine of you already which is great - I'd normally have to post an op to get the opportunity to speak to you. Tabyorky and I even posted to each other exactly at the same time - spooky! At the moment when counting there are 55 of our favourite members listed and there is also a general area for us to post comments for all to read. The novelty factor is running high and lots of new contacts are being made - but hey, that's the initial hand of friendship that I've been cying out for on Dooyoo. Let's make this work - I hope to speak to you there - my user name is: whitbybunny_(whitby). And once again ILoveJackDaniels (Dave) Well done and thank you - you are worth your weight in gold crowns!
