This is a web site that pays you for opening emails which they send to you.

Your task for which you get 5p each time is to click on the link contained within the email. The link takes you to a web site of a company or business that is not part of HT Mail but that has paid HT Mail a fee to gain customer feedback regarding the design of their web site, how appealing it is to a viewer and how likely the viewer is to use the web site or purchase anything from it.

At the same time as the web site is loading a pop up also appears on your screen with a feedback form that you need to fill in and send back to HT Mail completed. You just click the send button on the pop up form. A couple of seconds after you send it you get an acknowledgement email from HT Mail showing that they have registered your feedback and that your account has been credited for it.

It takes about 15 seconds to assess the web site and maybe 45 seconds to fill in your feedback. The feedback form needs your email typed on it, selections from drop down lists rating design of the web site, if you purchased from it and if you intend to in the future, plus typing in a box with any additional comments you may have. So it's about 1 minute in total and I have found it quite interesting being a critic or giving compliments, suggestions or observations about each web site I have been directed to.

I registered with HT Mail about a month ago but didn't start getting sent any emails from them until 2 weeks after that. I don't know if that is because they have a waiting list or if it is to do with my own profile but since they started sending them I have been getting about 3 per week.

Payment is by cheque when you reach £15 or more, with a lower threshold of £10 if you take payment by PayPal. I did a bit of research before joining them and have seen nothing at all anywhere to suggest that this is a scam. I have seen quite a lot of posts on forums and blogs saying that it is one of only a few "paid to click" sites that is genuine.

Unfortunately there are literally hundreds that aren't albeit most of these are being "paid" to click on adverts and/or visit web sites but without then rating them. It kinda makes sense that HT Mail are genuine because new and old web sites alike I feel would happily pay more than 5p per visitor to receive valuable feedback. I certainly would on a small scale if I had a new web based business or if I wanted to improve the effectiveness of an existing one.

I think there is also a referral programme that pays a flat referral fee and some trickle down percentages thereafter but I haven't got to looking into this in detail yet.

HT Mail also appears on some web sites that rate other web sites as authentic and as paying out okay. Obviously if you decide to join up do your own research and remember that nothing is ever guaranteed on the web. My feeling is that they are quite well established and that all things being equal are a genuine company who play fair.

Clearly the big negative of HT Mail at the moment for me is the slow rate of emails being sent to me. However, I am an optimist and therefore hope that the quality and constructiveness of my feed back might facilitate me receiving a bigger share of emails from them.

If you are looking for something that is a bit different and that can clock up a few pennies here and there then HT Mail may be worth registering with.
