Advantages: 15p/email and they do pay, international, helps advertisers

Disadvantages: Can be a wait for email

If you?re like me, you love any way of getting freebies or money off the internet in your spare time for not much effort. I was never in early enough for paid-to-surf schemes, and in my experience GPTREM (get paid to read email) programmes have never been worth it either. Click a link for $0.005. If you?re exceptionally lucky, they may carry on sending emails long enough for you to be able to cash out (in, like, 5 years!) so then you just have to wonder whether they?re a scam... Since I don?t have a network of 200 referrals either, I found MyPoints points mails the only ones that ever paid. Until now.

HTMail (presumably cleverly named to catch people that mistype Hotmail) really is different. It?s the only one that?s ever paid me for a start!

I can?t remember how I came across HTMail, but essentially it seems like other GPTREM schemes. Of course, they claim to be first and best:

?** History, Payment and Profit ** Many of our list members will not be aware that HTMail has been in business since April 1997. We were actually the *first* paid email service, and most of the rest have been based on our original model. We have always opted for organic growth, without outside investment. This has perhaps limited our growth rate, and maybe two years ago looked like a mistake - but today it appears to have been prudent! HTMail has always taken the prudent route. We have kept our staff numbers at minimum (so we are not currently intending to make any lay offs, unlike seemingly everyone else) and we have been profitable since 1998. We have no borrowings at all, and no demanding Venture Capitalists, so we can make our own decisions. Most importantly for our list members, we keep a bank balance available that will allow us to pay the full amount that we owe to all of our lists members at any time - so if every single person on the list asked for their money tomorrow - we could pay, without needing to borrow any cash. Maybe we are 'over careful'
- but don't your earnings feel safer??

but I don?t really know if that?s true.

I?ll mention orders later, but for now membership:

What?s so good about HTMail? Well, for a start they pay up to 15p a read! How does this work?

You join up like normal in these schemes ? you have to select various questions that allow them to screen lists for advertisers. Obviously some responses will affect your earnings (because of how often you get mail), but don?t lie ? they recently sent a warning they?d caught people cheating and would be booting them. Once you?ve confirmed your membership, just wait for the emails.

It took me about 15 months to earn my first cheque, £7.22. That represents 47 emails, which is just under one a week. I noticed sometimes you may go a few weeks without email, then get two or three in close succession. It depends partly on how your demographics fit obviously; but apparently they have a complex system that prioritises those who have had least mailings and/or been waiting the longest, so it?s quite fair.

The emails you get have an advertiser?s message, a link to their website and several other links. What?s so unusual about HTMail is you?re not paid just to visit the site then leave (like normal). Instead a pop up (very brief) questionnaire accompanies your visit. It really is quick ? a couple of drop down boxes rating presentation, content and your interest; what did you like best/worst, if you didn?t purchase/sign-up why not; general comments and occasionally one extra question. You don?t even HAVE to answer all these. I feel you should try some because it?s part of how they make their money to pay us; but I often just do the drop down boxes and the last two questions (though if there is an extra question specific to that advert I always answer it).

If you don?t want the hassle of this, you can click on a link to show you?ve read the email, and you?ll still get paid something without eve
n visiting. This is where it actually gets a bit complicated. I said you get paid up to 15p an email, but in fact they introduced two membership classes a while ago ? personal or referrer. You can choose which when you join and change which you are any time (up to once a month). Pay rates are as follows:

?Personal Class: For every HTMail email ad that you return our code number from we will credit you US $0.08 (or UK £0.05), and for each advertised web site that you visit and return our feedback form from, we will credit you an additional US $0.16 (or UK £0.10).

Referring Class: You are credited US $0.02 (UK £0.01), for every HTMail email that you return our code number from and an additional US $0.10 (or UK £0.07) if you return our feedback form on visiting an advertisers web site - but you also get US $0.03 (UK £0.02) for each feedback form returned by someone you referred AND an additional US $0.01 (UK £0.01) for each feedback form returned by THEIR referrals.?

In either case, your earnings are kept in your account. Every quarter (on 15th of March, June, September and December) they pay out cheques to everyone with at least $10/£5 (You can request payment with less, subject to charge; you can also request a higher minimum if subject to bank conversion charges). Any money not paid is carried over ? I think indefinitely (remember it took me 15 months for my first cheque). The rate of emails has definitely increased over time too ? I?m already almost half-way to my next cheque (after 4-5 months), and I?ve had two mailings today!

Advertisers. They?ve just been offering advertising for $9.95 per 100 on orders of under 2000 names (or just $5.95 per 100 on orders of 2000 names or more) with no minimum order. Unfortunately this was a November special offer (now ended) ? I?m not sure what their normal rates are. This may seem more expensive than some schemes, but their advantages are:
- Guaranteed 10% visit rate (current average 32
%)
- Feedback on your site ? you get to add one specific question free

I hope I?ve explained everything adequately. If not, the site FAQ are pretty clear, but feel free to ask questions. Anyone wanting me to forward the recent members email about dollar day, ?secrets?, cheats and other news, just leave me your email address.

I?d definitely recommend this as the best GPTREM scheme out there before; and with the benefits of ?dollar day? even better! My referral link (if you want it) is in the favourites on my profile, or just visit:

I already use and like MyPoints, but will take a look at this, too.

Sounds like it might be worth checking out - makes a nice change for these types of sites! Sue
