Logging in requires a different password to the www.iii.co.uk site in general, to which you must already be logged in, and takes you straight to the "My Holdings" page. This gives details of each position, percentage and total profit or loss. There are links across the top of the page to trading pages, regular investments, statements, help and live assistance. iii offer the option of using limits and stop-losses, e.g. to sell when your investment reaches a limit price or if it exceeds a certain maximum loss, which are essential in active trading. Interactive Investor (www.iii.co.uk) is a free investment web site that gives a very wide range of investment services, advice and news. I have been using this web site for several years now, initially just as a portfolio tool, but eventually using them as an on-line broker and for financial spread betting. The trading tools are sophisticated and reasonably priced, with a good basic share trading account and low-cost regular investment options or spread-betting, CFD trading and even LSE level 2 data for very active traders or "day-traders". They also provide tools to help choose the best mortgage, credit card, life insurance and loan deals available and ISAs ... Read the complete review

I use iii regularly to keep track of my investments because of their handy portfolio pages... these do much the same as many other online portfolio tracker sites but it seems to offer most of the different services.... ...these include: tracking the market news of your stocks and shares, tracking the total cost and profit on your investments, ability to trade directly online (although i don't use their service), internet forums for most uk equities(a service made famous by Motley Fool) and they also offer lots of detailed charts and data about the companies you choose. The reason that i choose this site over others is... (a) Motley ... Read the complete review

Until recently I thought shares were only for city whiz kids, but then the benevolence of my company showed itself (I’m still recovering from the shock!) and I became a shareholder. Simple I thought put the certificate in the filing cabinet and forget about it, but no it’s not quite that simple. The first thing that grabs you is a strange desire to check how much money you’ve made (or lost!!) that day. So how do I track my shares and their performance over a day, week or even month? The obvious starting place was Ceefax and it’s not a bad place to watch shares either but your investment has to be in the top ... Read the complete review

Interactive have introduced a new service called streaming, which costs £15 pcm + VAT. This gives real time share prices, very much like the Reuters and Bloomberg screens in the City, which cost Thousands each year and are well outside the budget of most small investors. Every second the screen flashes blue when a price rises and red when it falls. It is a very powerful financial tool indeed. As usual the site must be recommended with a warning - there are many rampers who will post comments to try and push the value of the share up or down depending on their positions. Despite this, there is a lot of useful info on this site and I recommend it ... Read the complete review

Interactive Investor (iii.co.uk); This site has recently upgraded it's share-dealing chart and graph services and they really do take the pain out of trying to calculate all those moving averages on share prices! Three I's, as I call it, is an excellent site for collecting share-price data and up to the minute dealing news. I use it regularly in conjunction with another favourite site, Market-Eye. You can always find lots of fascinating information at III, and it's not just all to do with shares; there's info on mortgages, various savings, units and pensions, to name a few. Anyone who's seriously interested in improving their ... Read the complete review
